Spectrum-based Perception

Our multispectral sensing solution derives image data up to 41 wavelengths (from 450 nm to 850 nm, in 10 nm intervals) simultaneously by just one shot. The solution is composed of Sony’s 1st multispectral sensor (IMX454) with 8 types of on-chip filter and the specially designed signal processing software.
As the solution makes it possible to distinguish slight color differences compared to RGB camera, it can be used in applications such as material sorting, contaminant detection inspection, and quality management.

Production Session
The VFX of The Penguin

On-set filming techniques included ground breaking interactive lighting for the visceral Oz action sequences. AI-driven workflows were employed to heighten the distress of a flood ravaged Gotham City. Young Victor witnesses the loss of his entire family in a flood, facilitated by complex simulations, striking the emotional core of viewers. Oz engages in a car chase filmed dry, but then immersed in torrential rain with a complex mix of classic 2d elements with sophisticated fx animation. New hybrid techniques in facial tracking augmented a progression of 10 years of visible torment for Sofia Falcone, as she was captive in Arkham Asylum. A car explosion ruptures the streets creating a massive sinkhole, with the help of new procedural destruction tools. All of the VFX were designed to service the characters and to tell their stories, to a degree that truly make the results no longer VFX work, but storytelling work. Our goal was for the viewer to not see the VFX, but to feel them. Join us as our team of industry leading VFX supervisors present the VFX of THE PENGUIN.

A Demonstration of YUBI: Your Universal Body Interface Using Finger Force to Full-Body Motion for Avatar Embodiment

YUBI, a novel interface, translates nuanced finger force inputs into continuous, full-body avatar motion, fostering strong embodiment in virtual reality. It enables embodied interactions such as object manipulation and navigation using only finger force, overcoming physical constraints while delivering realistic haptic experiences. Crucially, YUBI renders reaction forces to the fingers, allowing users to perceive virtual object properties (e.g., weight and stiffness) through the effort of their input. By dynamically adapting the force-motion relationship based on object characteristics, YUBI provides intuitive haptic perception, significantly enhancing haptic realism and avatar embodiment.
