Exhibit Contents

Towards larger human-size 3D object reproduction with Spatial Reality Display
(Sony Corporation)

< Demonstration >
- Stereoscopic and lifelike video of human with super fine details, on 55inch Spatial Reality Display prototype.
- Filling whole horizontal Field of View with 3x Spatial Reality Displays to experience a natural bird-eye view of Shibuya crossing.

Applications for Spatial Reality Display
(Sony Corporation)

< Demonstration >
Viewtify®: A next-generation medical image (DICOM image) viewer that can instantly synthesize high-quality 3DCG in real time from CT / MRI images by SCIEMENT, Inc.
Presented live on "Real-Time Live!".

Spatial Reality Display Player v2.0: With a new capability for more realistic rendering and improved usability enabled by the latest update (v2.0), please experience real-time 3D visualization with this new version by bringing your own 3D model* to the booth.
*3D model format supported by Spatial Reality Display Player: FBX, STL, GLTF, GLB and OBJ

3D Capture Solution: Related to prior "3D Chakaiki Project" by Sony Computer Science Laboratories, Inc., 3Dmodels of "Kyogashi" (traditional Kyoto sweets), captured and created with higher precision and resolution by taking advantage of Sony’s technology, are being exhibited on Spatial Reality Display. Please check the meticulous artisanal works to feel the beauty and the essence of Japanese tradition.
Exhibition cooperation: Kyogashi Exhibition 2024 / Yuuhisai Koudoukan Public Interest Incorporated Foundation

Portable Eye-sensing Light Field Display Prototype
(Sony Corporation)

< Demonstration >
Eye-sensing Light Field Display is a display that reproduces realistic three-dimensional objects in space, allowing users to look around and view three-dimensional space from any viewpoint. The realistic expression of "there" that is pursued by the commercialized 15.6 inch and 27 inch Spatial Reality Displays is retained, but it is housed in a small, hand-held device. A prototype that allows users to view realistic three-dimensional images with the naked eye will be exhibited.

360° Transparent Light Field Display: Next-generation 3D display technology for enjoyment by multiple users
(Sony Corporation)

< Demonstration >
The 360° transparent light field display offers a new visual experience with a high sense of reality that makes you feel like "it is right there." By projecting 3D images that can be viewed from all around, 360°, an unlimited number of people can enjoy 3D images from anywhere. In addition, the HOE (Holographic Optical Element) screen allows for both high transparency and brightness of 3D images even in bright lighting environments, creating a floating feeling and providing a high sense of reality.

PlayStation®VR2 Hand Tracking Demo
(Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc.)

< Demonstration >
You can experience intuitive operation in a game that uses a low-latency hand tracking function for PS VR2. This feature is available with the latest development kit of PlayStation®5.

Nishijin NCA: a design tool to support Kyoto's traditional weaving industry
(Sony Computer Science Laboratories, Inc.)

< Display >
In the Nishijin district of Kyoto, artisans put a lot of work in designing patterns to weave kimonos and other garments. We have developed a method called Nishijin NCA (Neural Cellular Automaton), where a neural network assists designers by learning their design choices when modifying part of an image, and applying those choices everywhere else on the image. Nishijin NCA learns from only one original and one modified image; there is no pre-training on existing datasets. Nishijin NCA significantly accelerates the rote tasks of color reduction and shape correction, leaving the artisan free to focus on creating textile patterns that look aesthetically pleasing when woven.

Hacking of Mechanical Properties
(Sony Computer Science Laboratories, Inc.)

< Demonstration >
By utiilizing "mechanical metamaterials", whose mechanical properties and functions can be turned by their internal shape, we can design and manufacture a wide vairiety of curved surfaces. Exhibition of flexible structures that deform from planar-to-3D curved surfaces due to exotic mechanical phenomena induced by their specific geometory.
