The Sony Group will donate a total of approximately 110 million yen,
including employee and matching donations
The Sony Group is providing additional donations to support relief efforts for the communities and individuals affected by the earthquake that struck Kumamoto Prefecture in Japan on July 28, 2026.
As announced on July 30, the Sony Group donated 50 million yen as emergency relief for affected communities and individuals through a fund*1 jointly operated with Save the Children Japan and through the Japanese Red Cross Society. *2
Subsequently, the Sony Group has collected donations from employees in Japan and overseas, and the total amount has reached approximately 28 million yen as of September 4. Combining these employee donations with matching donations of 28 million yen from the Sony Group, support from Sony Group companies, and the previously announced 50 million yen, the total support will amount to approximately 110 million yen. These additional donations will be provided to Save the Children Japan, the Japanese Red Cross Society, and other organizations.
The Sony Group sends its sincerest condolences to all those affected and wishes for a full and swift recovery for the region.
