Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (2021)
A drone capable of carrying an Alpha™ full-frame mirrorless camera and an aerial photography system for creators.
The Airpeak was designed to be as light as possible, and its surface area was minimized to reduce air resistance. It also features a high-rigidity structure to enable stable flight at high speeds. The arm angles and propeller positions were fine-tuned to keep them from interfering with the sensors placed on the airframe surface to enable automated flight. All extraneous elements were eliminated to derive an essential design. In terms of UI/UX, we examined the workflow of aerial photography based on interviews with video creators in target countries. Using the insights obtained, we created an aerial photography system consisting of a web app capable of pre-flight confirmation and route planning, and a mobile app for remote controller that can instantly respond to shooting needs on-site. The mobile app’s UI matches the operating unit of the remote controller so that it can be operated intuitively.
