Paper material developed to realize material recycling (2021)
Original Blended Material is a paper-based material developed by Sony to enable an essential material cycle in packaging. To promote recycling activities with our customers, we focused on communicating the importance of environmental awareness.
Original Blended Material uses bamboo and sugar cane fiber, and post-consumer recycled paper. It achieves high-quality design while being environmentally friendly and was first adopted for the package of the WF-1000XM4 headphones. Its ability to change into various shapes by adjusting the blend ratio allows it to be used for a wide range of applications other than packaging.
