toio is a small cubic robot toy that lets its players move and place blocks and other items on cubes through the game programing and a controller.
Children play through their own hand movements and can even get carried away thinking how to make the cubes work. And whenever they make a chance discovery, their creativity gets stimulated even more. We designed toio with the hope that it will give children a way to experience the joys of creation firsthand. The sky-blue hue of the toio brand was chosen based on the concept that under a cloudless and boundless blue sky, anywhere can be a playground. Instead of using futuristic electronic sounds for the melody, we chose sounds based on wooden acoustic instruments that feel warm and welcoming. The ring-shaped controller can be easily picked up with either hand, without regard for which side is up, and can be used intuitively.
