Five hundred global companies have signed up for the V500 initiative. The Sony Group signatories are Sony Group Corporation, Sony Life Insurance Co., Ltd., and Sony Music Entertainment UK Ltd. Sony Group Corporation was selected from among the 500 signatories as one of thirteen Iconic Leaders to play a leading role in the next phase of the initiative.
Today, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are vital components of corporate social responsibility, while respect for human rights and the promotion of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) are seen as essential for sustainable corporate growth. Kenichi Mochizuki, then discussed Sony's overall stance towards employing people with disabilities, using examples from Sony/Taiyo Corporation and Sony Kibou/Hikari Corporation in Japan to illustrate the concept and approach to inclusion of people with disabilities in business.
