Sony - FUTURE PROOF : Getting Closer to the Game

Upbeat music plays throughout. A woman, Dina Hassan, speaks as two people manipulate an animated soccer game on a monitor. A white logo appears in the top right corner of the screen.

DINA
“At Hawk-Eye, it’s about giving fans the opportunity to view the game in a completely new way.”

In a view just above the turf, a soccer player sprints toward the goalkeeper and kicks the ball into the net.

Two purple semi-circles appear on the left and right of an orange background. White text centers the screen.

DINA
“The data and video capabilities that we have are really just extra fuel to engage fans in new and creative ways.”

As she continues to speak, an animated player rushes down the field with a soccer ball. Text appears on the screen beside the player.

14.7 KM/H

As the player sprints past an opposing player, the speed bursts to 23.6 km/h. Other options available on the screen include “camera,” “follow player,” “follow ball,” “toggle graphics,”and “tools.” A bar at the bottom of the screen presents the options to “rewind,” “pause,” or “fast forward.” Now, an animated basketball game appears on screen. Two teams play in a packed arena.

DINA
“If you’ve missed the first half of the game, Hawk-Eye can build an automated highlight playlist to catch you up to the game that suits your preferences.”

On a soccer field, yellow lines extend through a female soccer players face, torso, and limbs – adjusting as she moves. Then, a team in green uniforms jogs onto the field. As a game is played, a player shoots at the net. Her movement is paused mid-kick, and the view revolves around her before the action continues and she scores a goal.

DINA
“We’re also using skeletal data to create virtual worlds where fans can interact with players in ways they never could’ve before. Fans can turn into the players and put their face on a player’s body and play the match as if they were there. It’s really about making things more personalized, more automated, and engaging for fans in a way that suits them best.”

Three people sit before a monitor, smiling at one another as they adjust the toggles while watching a soccer match.

Two purple semi-circles eclipse an orange background. White text on the left reads:

A chime sounds as a rainbow prism flares behind white text, and the view fades to black.
