Sony - FUTURE PROOF : A New Sense of Hope

Bright instrumental music plays throughout. A black SONY logo appears in the top right corner of the screen.

Three colleagues stand in a conference room with a NOS-DX1000 olfactive machine. A variety of fruits, vegetables, and spices are on a table beside the device. One of the colleagues, Sayaka, speaks as we see her picking up a pineapple and smelling it. Then, she smells the NOS-DX1000 and selects a pineapple icon on a tablet. Sayaka speaks in Japanese, and a translation appears in yellow subtitles at the bottom of the screen.

SAYAKA
“I believe that advancements in smell research could lead to a significant social impact.”

White text centers a green background.

“We believe that the NOS-DX1000 will be useful in hospitals, particularly for measuring a patient’s sense of smell.”

Another colleague holds his nose up to the smelling window at the top of the device.

SAYAKA
“It’s a known fact that people start losing their sense of smell about 10 years before they are diagnosed with Parkinson’s or dementia.”

Shuji interviews.

SHUJI
“Until now, measuring the sense of smell has been difficult because it takes a long time to switch between scents during a test. With the NOS-DX1000 an entire test with multiple scents can be done in 5 to 10 minutes, so it is expected to be an easy and convenient part of health checkups.”

In a doctor’s office, a woman and a child take scent tests on the NOS-DX1000.

A green screen splits into two brown semi-circles. The left semi-circle has a white logo.
