Poppy, upbeat music plays throughout. A white logo appears in the top right corner of the screen.

Text appears in a purple arch as a Japanese man wearing a grey sweater interviews.

ON SCREEN TEXT: Shota Minami
Product Manager
Sony Corporation

Shota twirls around in an empty room. The background changes and an avatar of a woman with strawberry blonde hair in a black skirt and boots dances where he was standing. The screen sweeps to a background of beige tiles. In a computer program, a cartoon woman in a black and white skirt copies their movements. Yellow subtitles appear as Shota speaks Japanese.

SHOTA
“Mocopi is a mobile motion capture system that makes it easy to perform motion capture anywhere. All you need for motion capture is mocopi and a smart phone.”

In a park, two men in tracksuits dance beside the cartoon woman avatar. A white title appears over a purple background, flanked by two grey semi-circles.

A human finger presses on a small round motion capture sensor that sits next to five others. The sensor reads “ankle” and the hands attach it to a strap on a man’s ankle, then another on a man’s wrist. Subtitles appear as Hidenari speaks Japanese.

HEDENARI
“Mocopi’s sensors actually capture pretty basic motion data such as position information, acceleration, and rotation values, which is based on the learning model created from the vast amount of motion data accumulated by different groups within Sony.”

In a studio, Hidenari films Shota against a wall on a cell phone, and the cartoon woman mimics his movements in a program.

In a lined virtual grid, a cartoon woman in a black and red dress moves around. In a dark room, she interviews and a purple arch with text appears.

ON SCREEN TEXT: Ringo Kujo
Virtual Artist
Sony Music Entertainment “VEE”

Subtitles appear as Ringo speaks.

RINGO
“Using mocopi you can move freely on the virtual stage. I hope that this more casual approach will allow more and more people to enjoy virtual physical expression.”

Ringo dances in the lined grid, and a concrete wall appears behind her.

HIDENARI
“By using a Software Development Kit (SDK), you can build original functions in conjunction with mocopi, and have the ability to configure other uses like games and fitness systems. We hope mocopi users will freely expand the use of the product in original ways that we have never thought of.”

In a park, the avatar woman in the black skirt walks past two people.

A grey screen splits into grey semi-circles over a purple background. The left half circle has a white logo.
