Crossing Views Exhibition

Inclusive Design Exhibition in Collaboration with KOKUYO (2026)

Sony and KOKUYO jointly presented CROSSING VIEWS, an exhibition exploring the potential of inclusive design. Designers from Sony and KOKUYO worked alongside employees from Sony/Taiyo and KOKUYO K Heart, special subsidiaries established to promote the employment of people with disabilities. Drawing on the diverse perspectives and insights gained through workshops held in Oita and Osaka, the team explored design approaches that support a society where everyone can live comfortably and authentically.

At the exhibition, the following two ideas were selected among the many generated through the workshops: an island sofa designed to provide comfort whether a person transfers from a wheelchair or remains seated in it, along with a keychain-style tag and bag that subtly communicate physical characteristics and everyday accessibility needs. Together, they demonstrated the design potential that emerges when diverse perspectives intersect. The exhibition also highlighted each company's design initiatives, including the Creative Center's Work and Lifestyle Lab and KOKUYO's HOWS DESIGN.
