"TransferJet Consortium" will start accepting submissions for Adopter members*1, who will become licensees of TransferJet™, from May 19, 2009 to widely promote the adoption of this technology.
"TransferJet Consortium" aims to develop and promote products and services incorporating TransferJet™ technology through marketing activities that will describe the benefits of TransferJet™ across industries and customers. In addition, "TransferJet Consortium" will continue to develop specifications and guidelines to ensure interoperability between "TransferJet™" products, establish licensing schemes and administer the use of the logo.
TransferJet™ is a close proximity wireless technology enabling a high speed data transmission rate of 560Mbps and eliminating major issues of current wireless technologies such as complex initial setup, unstable transmission or the need for access points. TransferJet™ has adopted an intuitive interface consisting of simply bringing two products in close proximity. For example, one can display a picture simply by touching a digital camera to a TV, or transfer music files just by holding a cell phone over a portable audio player. This technology is expected to be widely utilized as a high-speed universal interface connecting a variety of consumer electronics products.
