Tokyo, Japan - Sony Corporation ("Sony") today announced the overview of "Sony Open in Hawaii" *1 golf tournament to be held from Monday, January 11th, 2021 at Oahu, Hawaii (US).
As announced on November 10th, it was decided to provide exemption spots as a title sponsor to Japan Golf Tour Organization, and Jinichiro Kozuma, Takumi Kanaya and Ryosuke Kinoshita are scheduled to participate.
Sony has sponsored the Sony Open in Hawaii continuously since 1999. Every year, all proceeds from this event are channeled back into the Hawaiian community through partner Friends of Hawaii Charities to support children, women, the elderly, and the economically disadvantaged, and these efforts will be continued even during this COVID-19 crisis. With a total of approximately $20 million donated*2 to over 350 charities, the tournament is the largest charity sports event in Hawaii.
