Launch of the Sony Corporate Blog

On April 1, 2021, Sony embarked on a new era of Group-wide management with the inauguration of "Sony Group Corporation," and the new "Sony Corporation," which will oversee our electronics business.

At this important juncture in Sony's history, we are launching the Sony Corporate Blog as a place to share information on the diverse initiatives underway across the Sony Group.

The Sony Group's Purpose, or why we exist, is to "fill the world with emotion, through the power of creativity and technology." This Purpose was introduced by our CEO Kenichiro Yoshida in January 2019, so that the Sony Group's more than 110,000 employees around the world would be able to align their strengths along the same vector, and create value from a long-term perspective together.

Our Identity, or who we are, is a "creative entertainment company with a solid foundation of technology." Our Purpose and Identity are in many ways two sides of the same coin.

And our corporate direction of "getting closer to people," is based on this Identity and Purpose. We want to get closer to people, because it is people that create and experience "Kando" (emotion), the key element of our Purpose.

At Sony, "people" are at the core of all that we do. Our operations are structured around three domains consisting of six business segments that "move people's hearts," "connect people to people" and "support people." The six business are: Game & Network Services, Music, Pictures, Electronics Products & Solutions, Imaging & Sensing Solutions and Financial Services.

In the future, we will share messages from our management team and employees across our diverse businesses, as well as articles that will keep you up to date on Group-wide initiatives relating to sustainability, technology and more.
