Taira’s eyes follow the figure of a white-haired man in a wheelchair through the Saul XRE contact lenses he is wearing.

“There were ‘jobs,’ which you needed to survive.”

Taira loads his branchmind into an Uncle office support robot. The indicator switches to ON. The Uncle guides the man in a wheelchair to Taira’s counter.

“My name is Taira. I’ll be assisting you today.”

The scene changes to Shibuya in the evening. Amid bright illumination, Taira walks past a fashionable display window.

“And there was...‘work,’ which was for your own personal development.”

Taira returns to his apartment on the 70th floor of a complex building on Dogenzaka. He enters his living room.

“Hi.”

The branchmind of his partner Natsu appears. Her body is translucent.

“Hi.”

“How’s prep for tomorrow coming along?”

“All that’s left to do is show up.”

Taira and Natsu start discussing work using Saul XRE’s augmented reality.

“We were also able to perform labor using our ‘avatar.’”
“This transformed people’s lives.”

Taira launches his branchmind, which enters the room. Taira exchanges greetings with his branchmind. He takes a shower.

“It also transformed my relationship with Natsu.”

After taking a shower, Taira returns to his living room. He hears Natsu’s voice from the empty dining table.

“Taira. Are you on your way to bed?”

A translucent figure of Natsu appears.

“Natsu, is that the actual you?”

“...It’s me alright. It’s been, what, three weeks?”

Taira walks toward Natsu and looks into her eyes with his arms around her waist.
