Sensorial Entertainment is a service that reproduces scents smelled in the past based on vast amounts of accumulated emotion data. A restaurant providing this service enables past, faded memories to be relived by adding scent components that enhance the emotions felt at a particular point in time.
In a dark room that recreates the restaurant, images are projected on a round table where a man and a woman stand facing each other. Before them a scent mask is placed on a stand shaped like the stem of a wine glass. Scent masks consist of a frame made with metallic artificial muscles and biometal fiber materials and designed to fit the shape of a human face. Scents and memories are reproduced with the retinal projection technology and bone conduction technology incorporated into the mask frame.

A vertical liquid crystal display is placed behind the couple, and a scent mask is shown on the display.

The user interface of Sensorial Entertainment is projected on the round table. The scent masks are lit up, and myriad specks of light like champagne bubbles cover the tabletop. The scent mask shown on the display in the rear detaches from the stand and floats above, in tandem with the movement of the light.

The two rings of light flicker like candlelight. The two rings move toward the center of the screen as if drawn to each other, and they overlap.

The shared events of the couple and associated dates appear one after another in the center of the two overlapped rings of light.

The light represents the emotions of the couple felt at the time of the event. The words “2042.02.15 bittersweet” appear in the center. A single line extends from the center of the ring of light in the direction of ten o’clock.

Following the sound of a dial turning, a sound like wind blowing is heard, along with the voices of people talking. The ring of light in the center changes into a form that looks like myriad quadrangles radiating outward, flickering. The words “2037.04.16 surprise” appear in the center. A single line extends from the center of the ring of light in the direction of eight o’clock.

Following the sound of a dial turning, the sound of waves is heard, and the ring of light in the center changes into a form that looks like myriad strings forming concentric circles, flickering. The words “2031.05.27 chill” appear in the center. A single line extends from the center of the ring of light in the direction of seven o’clock.

Following the sound of a dial turning, the voices of children talking are heard, and the ring of light in the center changes into a form like bouncing soap bubbles. The words “2023.10.10 fun” appear in the center. A single line extends from the center of the ring of light in the direction of three o’clock.

Following the sound of a dial turning, the sound of waves is heard, and the single line extending from the center of the ring of light points in the direction of seven o’clock again. The ring of light in the center changes into a form that looks like myriad enveloping strings. After the words “2031.05.27 chill” appear in the center, all lights disappear from the screen, and the words “Generating Scents” appear.

BGM starts. After the ring of light in the center drifts around the center of the screen like champagne bubbles, it splits in two, returning to the two scent masks. The lights go around the scent masks once, slowly vanishing like smoke.

The sound of waves is heard, and an image of the sun setting and waves lapping on a beach is shown in the center of the screen.

Amid the sound of waves and chirping of birds, the image changes to a view of the young man and woman as they stand facing each other across the round table in a dark room. In the center of the round table, an image of a man and a woman holding hands is shown. Rings of light encircle the two scent masks placed on the round table, and after images of a beach and the face of a woman are projected one after the other, the screen goes dark.
