WELL-BEING, 2050
In 2050, no matter how much technology may have advanced, it is probably impossible to completely eliminate all failures and other things that create stress in life. Helping people acquire the resilience to bounce back from setbacks may therefore enhance their well-being. A sudden end of a romantic relationship, failure at work, death of a family member—when something happens that disheartens you, an AI therapist that is morphed into a suitable appearance will offer counseling support to help you acquire resilience, using optimal methods tailored to your needs based on your emotional shifts, stress values, and other data.
- Resilience Program
- An AI therapist in 2050 that helps people acquire resilience. This design prototype shows how the AI therapist will sense changes in your stress levels and emotion, and what kind of appearance it will take on to relieve stress.
AI therapist Ophelia helps people acquire resilience. The protagonist, whose girlfriend suddenly left him one day, builds resilience through conversations with Ophelia. Ophelia shows up before him in the likeness of his vanished girlfriend or his father. He is at odds with his father, and this is at the root of his stress. As the protagonist recovers both mentally and physically, how will he change emotionally?
In 2050, when people can easily bounce back from any setback, who will Ophelia morph into? A trusted friend? Someone you are at odds with? Or maybe even your beloved dog? When you are overwhelmed by stress, who would you like to have a virtual conversation with?
An emotion capturing sensor will know when you are faced with a difficult moment or a frustrating setback. It monitors your emotional state 24/7. The sensor is worn directly on your skin, and it is so unobtrusive that you almost forget that it’s there. It senses blood hormone levels, flow, and components, and it emits heat and light when any unusual state is detected.
