Sony Group Corporation unveils the prototype of Future Mobility Entertainment “VR Cockpit” at Japan Mobility Show 2025 ～Presenting a new form of mobility at the LEXUS RealxVirtual Driving Concept booth ^*1 within the Tokyo Future Tour 2035～

Sony Group Corporation presents the prototype of "VR Cockpit," a future mobility entertainment experience, for the first time at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, held at Tokyo Big Sight in Ariake, Koto Ward, from Wednesday, October 29 to Sunday, November 9, 2025.

This VR Cockpit prototype is installed in the "LEXUS RealxVirtual Driving Concept powered by VR Cockpit" exhibit by LEXUS within the JMS tour program "Tokyo Future Tour 2035," which provides an experiential program offering a glimpse into mobility ten years from now. The prototype delivers a new driving experience, enabling passengers to enjoy the PlayStation®5/PlayStation®4 software title 'Gran Turismo 7' by experiencing realistic driving sensations in the car.

It is said that vehicles spend over 90% of their lifespan parked or stationary. The 'VR Cockpit', developed by the Sony Group, is a service and solution that brings new value to cars by utilizing the interior as an entertainment space, from gaming experience and beyond, under the concept of "Transforming parked mobility into an immersive space."
In this exhibition, the VR Cockpit synchronizes the actual car with Gran Turismo 7, achieving a highly realistic driving simulation based on the driver's inputs, offering an unprecedented level of immersion in the game. We have created this prototype driven by the desire to convey to all users, including the children who will shape the future, that "cars can be even more fun." We propose a new "emotional experience" for future cars, one that will be remembered in the future as "the day cars changed how they were used."
