Achieving an A Rating on CDP's Supplier Engagement Assessment for the Eighth Consecutive Year

    Sony Group Corporation

Tokyo, Japan — Sony Group Corporation (Sony) has received the highest rating of "A" according to CDP's Supplier Engagement Assessment, which evaluates corporate supply chain engagement on climate issues, and has also been selected as a "Supplier Engagement Leader." This marks the eighth year in a row and the ninth time that Sony has received this recognition.

Sony continues to adhere to its "Road to Zero" long-term environmental plan, which aims to achieve a zero environmental footprint throughout its business operations and product life cycles by fiscal year (hereafter "FY") 2050. In the area of climate change, Sony is working toward achieving net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its entire value chain by FY2040 and realizing the RE100 global initiative to operate all of its own business sites on 100% renewable electricity by FY2030.

Furthermore, Sony has established its medium-term environmental targets from FY2026 to 2030 under the name "Green Management 2030"(hereafter "GM2030") and is actively pursuing these goals. One of the GM2030 targets is to reduce Scope 3 emissions* by 25% across the entire Sony Group by FY2030 (compared to FY2025). Sony is also working to encourage its raw materials suppliers, parts suppliers, and contract manufacturers to monitor and reduce GHG emissions, and aims to transition the electricity used by its major raw materials and parts suppliers in the manufacturing of products for Sony Group to 100% renewable electricity.

    • *Indirect GHG emissions associated with the company's business activities, including product use, supply chain, and logistics, etc.

Sony will continue to accelerate its efforts to reduce environmental impact throughout the lifecycle of its products and services, in pursuit of achieving its GM2030 targets and its long-term goal of a zero environmental footprint.
