高齢者向けペットロボットのコンセプト受容と態度変化 ~R&D における HCD の取り組み~
Abstract
In recent years, the aging population has been increasing not only in developed countries/regions but also in developing ones, making the issues of isolation and loneliness among the elderly a universal challenge. In this study, we conducted preliminary interviews to explore the connection between the elderly and their family members, identifying two new values. The first is a shift from the unilateral act of watching over the elderly to a mutual sense of watching over each other. The second is the ability to naturally understand each other’s situations without the need for direct communication. Based on these values, we proposed a new concept for a pet robot that facilitates mutual awareness of its owner’s state. After defining the requirements for materials and movements through experiments, two prototypes were developed. Interviews conducted using these prototypes generally validated the predefined values. Furthermore, findings revealed additional perspectives, such as ”value from the viewpoint of other family members” and ”value in considering future implications,” indicating a shift in attitudes from multiple angles.
