Development of novel liquid crystal on silicon microdisplays and future application

Abstract

This paper presents the development of liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) technology aimed at enhancing the image quality and reliability of projectors. Additionally, we introduce an 8K LCOS panel with a pixel pitch of 2.6 μm. Furthermore, we discuss the application prospects of the developed phase-only spatial light modulator.
