Seven students, from elementary and junior high school, participated in the workshop from Soma City, Fukushima. All of them are girls. Most of them met for the first time at the workshop. While some students seemed very shy, through the workshop they all got close to each other and at the end they exchanged their contact information.
Soma of Fukushima is known as a historical and traditional city, since the Soma Family moved to this area and brought prosperity in the early Edo period.
Due to Tsunami, most of the fishery harbors were destroyed and some horses of traditional "Soma Nomaoi" were killed.
Children met so many people at "Soma Haragama Market", where fishermen from the afflicted area operate and sell warm food and distribute the support goods. At the "Soma Disaster FM" studio, newly established in the Soma city office after the earthquake, children saw lots of the records from right after the earthquake.
The city is located at approx. 50 km away from Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. They are sceneries which imply the existence of the invisible radiation.
Mountains of displaced soil, the result of giant holes, where the top layer of soil has been scraped and buried, at school playground, play equipment which were banned to use, persimmons remained on trees, people bringing homegrown vegetables and fruits to have the radiation check, etc.
During the interview, the elderly man at the temporary house replied to the children; "we are more worried about you." Children are trying to introduce what they feel and see in their daily lives though the photos and texts.
