2:46PM, March 11, 2011. The Great Earthquake of 9-magnitute hit Eastern Japan. It generated a giant Tsunami, which blanketed over 500km of the coastal area. The beautiful scenery of Tohoku area has changed all at once.
Participants are 27 children from the elementary school to junior high school. Through the workshops, children learn about photography and technique from an Italian professional photographer, Mr.Giacomo Pirozzi. He shared the insights of the children in other developing countries with them.
Children learned how to express their own feelings through photography and the necessary techniques to report the town they live.
Rubbles yards which used to be their playground, temporary houses built in the school ground and the lives of the people, smiles of the people working at the newly built temporary shopping mall, families relaxing at homeâ‹…â‹…â‹… Not only the devastation and its influence to the community, children also shot the photos of the people striving for the reconstruction, families and friends, beautiful scenery of the oceanâ‹…â‹…â‹… everything they feel precious for them.
It was a process where children found their own feelings deep inside of themselves and expressed through the photography.
Through their photos, you can directly feel what they felt and thought of in their daily life. There are many things we can find out through children's "EYE SEE".
